FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

What type of timber does Arbor Resources produce?

We only mill plantation grown Radiata Pine.

What are your size and length specifications?

Our specifications and invoicing are based on the metric scale. Standard lengths are 1.8, 2.1, 2.4, 2.7, 3.0, 3.3, 3.6, 3.9, 4.2, 4.5, 4.8, 5.1, 5.4, 5.7 and 6.0, Standard thickness' are 25mm, 32mm, 38mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm. Standard widths vary depending on grade.

At Arbor Reman Ltd, our Industrial packaging unit , we produce precision cut to length material . This mill is able to offer special non-standard sizes and thin board i.e. 12 - 19mm thickness  for high grade Industrial uses.

How long does production and shipping take?

This depends on stock levels and final destination but usually 2-6weeks from order date.

What is your moisture content after kiln drying?

We dry our furniture and high end value timber products to a final moisture content between 8-12%. By special arrangment we can dry 6-10% on request but we do not recommend this low MC for furniture manufacturers. Industrial grade is normally dried to air dry equivalent 20-25% and also certified for heat treatment at same time.

How is the timber shipped and what is the minimum volume I can order?

A large percentage of the timber is shipped in forty and 20' foot containers. The balance is shipped below deck break-bulk.  Approximately 45 cubic metre will fit inside a forty foot container.

What are the terms of payment?

Payment methods include irrevocable letter of credit payable on sight of documents or Telegraphic Transfer prior to shipment. Payment is preferred in United States Dollars, Australian Dollars or New Zealand Dollars.

PLEASE NOTE: ARBOR DOES NOT TRADE IN LOGS, ONLY SAWN TIMBER AND TIMBER PRODUCTS!
